At The Pump you can eat without worrying about what's been added to your food. We don't cook with butter, cream, mayo or any other unhealthy fats. After you eat our food, you won't get thirsty because we don't add salt, you won't get heartburn because nothing is fried, and you won't get tired because everything has protein, including our desserts. At The Pump you will find lots of clean, healthy food, the kind we hope will give you the energy you need for everything you do.

Where did June go??

With all of our fingers and toes crossed, we hope to open our brand new Pump at 40th & Madison on Wednesday July 2nd. It is a brand new look, a whole new menu and a redesigned kitchen that will produce food faster and with better quality.

We had a private party last week and have been practicing day and night ever since. Stop on by and take a peek if you want.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATES -- TRYING TO MAKE A BETTER PUMP 6/9/2008

38th Street -- Rockin' & Rollin'

After a total remodel of our kitchen, we've installed a much more efficient cooking process so that we can serve our food faster and fresher. We had to hold back deliveries for a week as we streamlined the process, but now we've been ramping up our volume and now we're able to produce more food in less time. To the great surprise of our patient customers used to waiting 20, even 30 minutes on the old kitchen , we're now able to serve food in an avergage of 3 to 5 minutes. With that speed, there is no longer a need to call ahead. Most everyone just walks in, orders and voila, their order is ready. Come in and check it out!

31st Street -- Taking a Nap

On a somber note, we decided to close our 31st Street Pump indefintiely as we undertake some serious gut-renovations. As our first and oldest store, 31st Street was simply just worn out and falling apart. Every day became a crisis. We tried making some Band-Aid improvements, but they did little to improve our operations. So we decided to do it the right way and shut down completely, tear the place apart and rebuild from scratch. We're sorry for the inconvniece. We've dispersed our great 31st Street crew to our other locations and expanded their delivery areas. You can still order from 21st Street, 38th Street or our 50th Street Pumps.

HI. THANKS FOR CHECKING IN

As you can see, this is a temporary website, with a new one on the way. You may also notice a new logo. Both reflect a lot of new improvements we have underway to make The Pump better.

We're working on a new simplified menu that will make it easier to order and, most importantly, faster for us to make it for you. Our menu has grown and expanded over the ten years that The Pump has been serving healthy food in New York. But as many of you have experienced, it grew to be way too complicated and a real mess to operate on a consistent basis.

So we're on a mission to simplify. It will take some time, but we think it will make you happier. We'll keep you posted here and we'd love your input along the way.

You will also note a new CONTACT US page here. That's for you to tell me directly how we're doing. I encourage you to write often. Let me know how we can do better. Or, let me know if we did something good too, I'd love to pass the word along to our hard working employees. Every email comes straight to me and several others, instantly, so don't be surprised if you get a response back right away. There are real people on the other end.

Thanks for listening,

Adam
